Katinka Kraft is a writer, filmmaker and performer currently living in Berlin. She was a featured spoken word artist on national tours such as Out of Apathy (2006), Write Off (2005), All Girl. All Word (2003), including performances at the Moore Theater, Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, University of California-Davis, Western Washington University, University of Washington, California State Polytechnic University, Portland State University, Fairhaven College, the National Queer Arts Festival, Take Back the Night, and Bumbershoot Arts Festival.
She was one of the founding board members of Bent, a non-profit queer writing school in Seattle and co-director of Oratrix Productions, a production company that promoted queer spoken word on the West coast.
Katinka is currently working on her first one-woman show and completing a feature length documentary The Descendants Project. She is one of the founding organizers of Shut Up and Speak, a spoken word stage in Berlin for women and trans people. She has spent over eight years teaching performance and writing workshops to adults and young people in the US and more recently in Germany.
